Joseph Kiley owns and operates Kiley Funeral Home. He is a 1989 graduate of New England Institute with an A.S. in funeral service and is a 1993 graduate of the University of Maine, Orono with a B.S. in business administration.

He has lived in Brewer most of his life and has been operating the family business since the early 1990's with his uncle, Lawrence Kiley, his wife, Heather (Johnson) Kiley and his mother, Mary Kiley.

Lawrence Kiley, who gained interest and experience working for Bangor-Brewer area funeral homes in the 1950's, established Kiley Funeral Home in 1963. He is also a lifelong resident of Brewer, graduated from the University of Maine and New England Institute and had taught high school in Brewer for ten years in the late 50's and 60's.

Garry Gilpatrick is a 1986 graduate of Husson College and New England Institute and operates Kiley Funeral Home with the Kiley Family. He owns and operates Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home in Hampden, Maine and has been a resident there for 10 years.

PHILOSOPHY

Kiley Funeral Home is a small family owned and operated funeral and cremation service provider located at 69 State St. in Brewer, Maine and we have been serving the greater Bangor-Brewer area and southern Penobscot county since 1963.

The Kiley Family has always taken a practical approach to funeral service by making personal service a top priority and by trying to keep prices affordable. We are members of the Maine Funeral Directors Assoc., a membership of funeral homes and funeral directors in the State of Maine that isdedicated to excellence, professionalism and loyalty to high ideals. We affirm our 'connectedness' to our community through civic involvement, religious faith, and support of children and family organizations and functions. We maintain a professional relationship with area funeral homes in order to maintain flexibility and to offer a higher level of service.

Kiley Funeral Home is conveniently located at 69 State Street in Brewer's business district near the State St.-No. Main St. intersection. We are within one mile of several major routes including:

I-395 connecting I-95 with Route 1A.
Route 9 Brewer-Bangor to downeast Maine (Calais, Machias, Eastport.)
Route 1A Brewer-Bangor to coastal Maine (Belfast, Ellsworth, Bar Harbor.)
Route 15 Brewer-Bangor north to Greenville or south to Deer Isle-Stonington.
Route 2 Brewer-Bangor west to Newport, Skowhegan and western Maine.

DIRECTIONS

The exterior of our facilities is bordered by three streets with a back off-street parking area, some street parking and additional parking shared by a neighboring church.

Although we operate out of an early 1900's home, several modifications and improvements have been made making it accommodating and accessible to all. The interior of our facilities are comfortable and tastefully decorated with warm surroundings and subtle elegance without being lavishly offensive.
